Thames Tides and Lunar Phases 2024-2025
This work is part of an ongoing series that draws on the tidal rhythms of the River Thames , translating its rise and fall into generative drawings in relation to the notion of time.

Taking information from Tower Bridge tidal gauges on the Thames, the artist has mapped the data using creative code and plotted it with a drawing machine. The undulating lines and curves visualise the river's movements in the context of the phases of the moon over 12 months.

Rooted in the artist’s background in information systems and computational art, the series examines how technology can make the invisible patterns of the natural world tangible. Each drawing traces a moment in the life of the river, reflecting its connection to the city and the broader systems that shape it.
