Studio Quantum | Berlin
November 2024
As part of their Studio Quantum micro-residency in Berlin, artists Kerrie O’Leary (Ireland) and Petja Ivanova (Bulgaria) recorded an open conversation exploring the shared territories of their practices.
Interwoven with glimpses of the pair preparing their space at Künstlerhaus Bethanien ahead of their Open Studio event, the video offers an informal look at how their ideas took shape—notes, laptops and spontaneous exchanges included.
In this discussion, the two reflect on hydrofeminism, hyperobjects, computational approaches, and mythologies from Ireland and Bulgaria that gesture toward quantum thinking long before it entered scientific discourse. The recording provides a insight into the conceptual ground that informed their collaborative research and the dialogues they later opened to visitors.
This residency was part of an initiative sponsored by Studio Quantum, Goethe-Institut Irland, Akademie der Künste and Zeitgeist Irland 24

Through iridescent projections, water-splitting experiments, and cyanotypes of myths from Ireland and Bulgaria, they invite you to immerse yourself in the fluid interplay of quantum ideas and cultural narratives.
